Modern data platform for social housing
Flagship Housing Group has partnered with leading digital and cloud service provider, ANS to deploy a modern data platform to help improve data governance and enable them to make more intelligent and proactive business decisions.
Flagship Housing, which is part of Flagship Group, are responsible for building, letting and maintaining over 28,000 homes for people in need in the east of England.
The housing association has embarked on a significant modernisation program to support staff and tenant systems and has already begun moving their legacy data centre infrastructure to cloud and wanted to replicate the success by improving their data warehouse capabilities using Azure analytics services.
Having received recommendations from other Housing Associations, Flagship turned to ANS’ Data Platform Accelerator process to build an Azure landing zone orientated for data services and build out integrated analytics services using Azure Synapse. ANS will initially onboard 4 mission critical systems into the platform with a view to enable Flagship to add additional workloads at a later date.
Yogesh Gohil, Head of Technology at Flagship Housing Group said, “This project will enable us to improve data governance and will help us to ascertain where specific data is and who is responsible for it. Looking further down the line, we aim to use this platform as a springboard to enable us to unlock even greater value from our data, with a view to gaining a single view of the tenant to help us make more informed business decisions.”
ANS’ Technical Director, Joe Wolski added: “We’re delighted to be working with Flagship to help them improve their data governance and lay the foundations that will enable them to take a more proactive approach to things like property development and repairs and maintenance. Housing associations collect a colossal amount of data which is traditionally stored in spreadsheets and siloed. Flagship Housing has recognised the need to modernise their data platform and in doing so are now strongly positioned to embrace new technologies and processes that will transform how they provide their services.”
